GrimsBOO! Returns to Downtown Grimsby for Third Year of Halloween Fun

Downtown Grimsby is bringing back GrimsBOO! for a third year on Saturday, October 24 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Presented by Civiconnect, the free, family-friendly event will feature trick-or-treating, Halloween activities, photo opportunities and plenty of spooky surprises throughout downtown.

“We’ve been loving the community response to GrimsBOO! over the past couple of years, so we really can’t wait to bring it back,” said Mark Wood, Chair of Downtown Grimsby. “It’s a fun day for all ages so be sure to get out there.”

This year’s event will bring back some favourite activities from previous years while adding new ways to get into the Halloween spirit. With activities happening at various locations, there will be plenty to see and do all throughout downtown.

Trick-or-Treating

Trick-or-treating will be at the centre of GrimsBOO!, with dozens of Downtown Grimsby businesses handing out treats. Each participating location will display an official GrimsBOO! Halloween window sign, making it easy for families to spot where they can stop for treats.

Pumpkin Carving

Stop by the alleyway behind The Dutch Shop to carve your own jack-o’-lantern. Pick out your perfect pumpkin (we’ll have plenty!) and get carving.

Bouncy Castle and Games

The alleyway behind Harmony Jewellers will become an activity hub with a bouncy castle and games. Kids can jump, play, and have some fun between trick-or-treating stops.

Face Painting

Add a little extra Halloween magic to your costume with face painting, located in the alleyway behind Harmony Jewellers. Choose a spooky design, a favourite character or let the face painter get creative!

Halloween Colouring at Participating Restaurants

Grab a bite while you’re downtown and keep the Halloween fun going with themed colouring pages available for children at participating restaurants.

Free Halloween Photos at Village Studio

Strike a pose in your Halloween best! Village Studio, located at 63 Main St W, will be offering free professional digital Halloween photos for attendees.

Dog Costume Contest at The Dog Spot

Four-legged friends can join in the Halloween fun too! The Dog Spot, located at 43 Main St E, will host its own Dog Costume Contest. Pet owners can stop by with their costumed dogs for a chance to win.

Drink Tent

Warm up with a selection of hot seasonal beverages from The Market Place on Main, available for purchase at the drink tent in the alleyway behind Harmony Jewellers.

Halloween Installations & Photo Opportunities

Keep an eye out for Halloween-themed installations and photo opportunities throughout downtown. From spooky setups to fun seasonal displays, there will be plenty of spots to snap a Halloween photo.
