What is your name and what business do you run?
"We’re Dr. Joe Paolasini and Dr. Alana Paolasini, and together with my wife, Carey, we run Dr. Joe & Associates Family and Cosmetic Dentistry."
How Did You Get Started & What Inspired You to Open a Shop in Downtown Grimsby?
"I (Dr. Joe) was fortunate to grow up here in Grimsby, attending both St. Joseph’s and GSS. After graduating from Western University in 1981, I knew I wanted to come back home to start my dental practice and raise a family. Downtown Grimsby has always felt like the heart of our community; warm, welcoming, and full of life. It’s been the perfect place for us to grow our practice over the years."
Is there a story behind your business name or logo?
"There is! When I first started practicing, many of my younger patients had a tough time pronouncing “Paolasini”. They simply started calling me “Dr. Joe.” It stuck, and it’s been part of our identity ever since."
What do you love most about what you do?
"What we truly love is helping people. Not just with their dental needs, but by making their entire experience as smooth and stress-free as possible. Being able to make someone feel comfortable and cared for means the world to us."
What is one product or service you are especially proud of?
“We take great pride in providing comprehensive, conservative cosmetic dentistry. It’s about helping our patients feel confident in their smiles while always prioritizing their long-term dental health.”
What’s one thing people might not know about your business?
“We’re always learning and growing. Between the two of us, we’ve completed over 1,000 hours of continuing education to ensure we’re offering the most current, evidence-based treatments. Staying at the forefront of dentistry is something we’re truly passionate about.”
What does the Grimsby community mean to you?
“Grimsby is home. It’s where we’ve grown up, raised our family, built our practice, and shared so many memories. This community has shaped us, and it’s an honour to serve the people here every day.”
What impact do you hope your business has on the community?
"Our hope is to be more than just a dental office. We want to be a positive, lasting part of our patients’ lives and the community. Whether it’s through care, education, or simply offering a smile, we aim to contribute to a healthier, happier Grimsby."
