Grimsby, ON, May 29, 2026 — Downtown Grimsby is proud to announce the return of the Canadian Flag Program, with more than 40 Canadian flags being displayed at participating businesses throughout the downtown core this May. Following a successful launch in 2025, the initiative is returning for a second year to continue celebrating community pride and creating a vibrant, unified streetscape heading into the summer season.
The program is funded by Downtown Grimsby, with support from Canadian Tire (44 Livingston Ave., Grimsby), which generously donated several flags and provided the remainder at a significant discount. Downtown Grimsby extends its appreciation to Canadian Tire for supporting the initiative and helping bring a display of Canadian pride to downtown.
“We’re happy to bring the Canadian flags back again this year,” said Mark Wood, Board Member of Downtown Grimsby. “They add a lot to the look of downtown, and we hope to see the flag program continue to grow in the future.”
The flags were installed in late May and will be displayed at businesses across Downtown Grimsby until after Remembrance Day.
